Gregory Crow Obituary
Longtime Yreka resident, Gregory Stephen Crow passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2015 at Fairchild Medical Center at the age of 58.
Greg was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on May 26, 1957 to James and Billie June Crow. Greg atStended Montgomery Elementary School, Cleveland Middle School, and Del Norte High School in New Mexico. He served in the United States Navy after graduation, and spent time on the USS Constellation. Greg married the love of his life, Susan Stowe, in San Diego on November 26, 1983. In 2000, he and the family moved from San Diego to Siskiyou County.
Greg held office as a Lecturing Knight for the Yreka Elks Lodge, and he was a member of the Yreka United Methodist Church. He had many interests and hobbies: he loved fishing, camping, and had an interest in gunsmithing. Aside from his hobbies, his true passion was his family, and his heritage as a member of the Osage Tribe of Native Americans. He was very proud of his heritage, and very proud to be a patriotic American and Veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, James Crow.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan; his mother, Billie June of Albuquerque, NM; his two children, Jennifer (Kurtis) Embury of Little Shasta & Jane Crow of Yreka; a brother, James (Junita) Crow of Uruguay; his three- granddaughters, Cadence, Evalette, and Bristol; and his three nieces, Hailey, Ashley, and Rania.
A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held for Greg on Wednesday, October 21st at 2:00 p.m. at the Little Shasta Cemetery. A memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 24th at 11:00 a.m. at the Yreka United Methodist Church. The family asks that those who attend the Celebration of Life dress in tie-dye if possible.
