James McBride Obituary

James Richard McBride Sr.



James Richard McBride Sr. was born on February 19, 1933 in Flint, Michigan and sadly left the world on April 6th, 2018. He will always be known as a great father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who loved his family and friends dearly. He was the firstborn to James William and Dorothy (Mathews) McBride. James married Nancy Carol Bechtel on October 10, 1953, in Clio, Michigan. After serving four years in the U.S. Air Force he attended Graceland University and finished his Bachelor's Degree at Western Michigan University. James and his family settled in Albuquerque in 1962, where he worked for ABF Trucking for 30+ years before he retired. He was a long-time member of the Mesa Lodge 68 A.F. & A.M., as well as The Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple. He was also a dedicated patron of the Community of Christ Church where he was a member of the priesthood. James is survived by his son, James Jr. (Sue) of Chino Valley, AZ; grandson, James III of University Place, WA; granddaughter, Christina Richardson (Scott) of Tacoma, WA; great-grandsons, Cody of Phoenix, AZ and Owen Richardson of Tacoma, WA; as well as his soon be to third great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brother, Donald of Clio, MI; sisters, Janet Tolles and Janice Bronson (James) of Clio, MI; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time friends. James was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; son, Kevin; parents, James and Dorothy; and brother-in-law, James Tolles. Memorial service will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice in James's honor.
