Jane Ragnhild Stuart

Jane Ragnhild Stuart passed away December 31, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born to Jesse Lloyd and Josephine Ruth (Van Vyven) Hodgson on April 14, 1935 in Ann Arbor, MI and was raised in Hillsdale, MI. Jane attended Denison University for two years, pledged Pi Beta Phi, and transferred to University of Michigan "Go Blue!"

Jane was married to Air Force Col. Robert "Bob" Stuart who preceded her in death in 2018. They married April 5, 1958, in Hillsdale and spent 60 wonderful years together. It was because of Bob's assignment at Ramey that he met Jane who was teaching at the Base.

Each base brought a new adventure. Jane loved being an Air Force spouse and did an astounding job taking care of four daughters as Bob was often away serving the country. Along the way Jane earned her MA at Mercer University and taught as a Reading Specialist in Bernalillo, NM for 20 years. Despite the many moves, Jane was consistent with her involvement in the Episcopal Church.

Jane is remembered for her intelligence, humor, love of life, steadfastness, generosity, concern for others, and her faith in Christ.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Laura Stuart of Dallas, TX; daughter Angie Stuart of Albuquerque; daughter Anne Marble (Pat) of Allen, TX; granddaughter Kelsea (Griffin Taylor) of Richardson, TX; grandson Tyler (Brianna) of Wylie TX; greatgrandchildren Reese, Ryann, Lenny and Perry; and brother Thom Hodgson and wife Grace of Raleigh, NC.

She was preceded in death by husband Bob Stuart and daughter Elizabeth Stuart.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Chad's Episcopal Church, 7171 Tennyson St. NE, Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the Elizabeth Stuart Barajas Memorial Fund at All Faith's Children's Advocacy Center
