Janice Rosett Obituary

Janice H. Rosett

Janice Rosett passed away on December 31, 2021, after a long illness. She was born on January 24, 1955, in El Paso, Texas to Jacob & Celentha Katz. After earning her bachelor's degree in Spanish and French with honors from UTEP, Janice combined her fascination with language and love of helping others into a long and successful career as a teacher. In El Paso Janice met Randy Rosett, and the two were married in 1978. In 1982 they moved to Albuquerque where Janice continued to inspire others, teaching Spanish to countless students at Eldorado High School. Even after her retirement, she loved the frequent chance encounters with former students who remembered her fondly. Janice's personal achievement as a teacher is eclipsed only by her impact as a loving and dedicated wife and mother -- Janice and Randy together raised three charming and successful children. Janice rightfully took great pride in watching her children grow to have families of their own and was an active and doting grandmother.

Janice was very fond of seeing the world, but equally enjoyed quiet days at home or shopping with close friends. She was a flawless hostess and an outstanding chef and baker and took great joy in sharing her talents to the delight of her family and friends.

Janice is survived by her husband, Randy Rosett and their three children, Jeff (Kaili), Matt (Carrie), and Nancy; and four grandchildren Ben, Sam, Ezra and Maren; her brother and his wife Wayne & Liz Katz, their children Josh, Laura & Nick, and grandchildren Theo & Hanna.

All who knew Janice admired her cheerfulness, her intelligence, and her boundless energy, but what was most important to many was her tremendous capacity for caring and kindness to everyone she met. She was beautiful both inside and out and will always be remembered with great love.

A private burial will be held. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association https://alzfdn.org/support-us/donate/.

I had the pleasure of meeting Janice the year that Matt was in my 5th grade class at Georgia O'Keeffe ES. Janice (and Randy) were the parents every teacher dreams of and their kindness, caring, and support were reflected in their son Matt who was a joy to have in class. I've had the pleasure of "bumping" into Janice over the years and was always greeted with a smile and friendly chat. My sincere condolences to Randy, Matt and the entire Rosett family.

We offer our sincere condolences and sympathy to the entire Rosett family and especially Nancy and Randy who we knew best on behalf of the Malm family, Charles, Annique, Gavin, and Carin as well as the Torres family, Richard, Margaret, and Steven Torres, M.D.

I loved Janice dearly and we spent many years together as best friends. Our daughters, Nancy and Carin were best friends right along with us. We traveled together, dined out, and shopped until we dropped. We spent so much time together with Randy as well. Randy even traveled with us. Janice was all about fun! She lived life to the fullest. She laughed with gusto. I remember going to an afternoon movie with the Girls and sitting up in front of the Theatre. It was a comedy. Janice laughed so hard that she would throw her head back and kick her legs up in the air. That was Janice! I loved her dearly. One of my greatest regrets in life was allowing our lives to go in different directions and losing touch with one another, but I never stop thinking about Janice and loving her from afar. She was one of a kind. May the heavens hold her tight and take away the suffering so that she may get back to laughing. Rest in Peace my dear and lovely friend. I will always love you! I had the pleasure of working alongside Janice at Eldorado H.S.
She was truly an asset to our Spanish Dept. ..a beautiful, sweet, and sophisticated woman are just a few words that describe her.
May she rest in peace.
