Jennifer Klein Obituary

Jennifer Klein

In the tumult of the spring of 1969, Jennifer Meredith Klein entered this world. Born in the Bronx to Martin and Grazina Klein, Jennifer spent only a few years in New York before the family moved to Alaska, and then again to New Mexico where she grew up in Albuquerque. A 1987 graduate of the Albuquerque Academy, she left for Rollins College and then Loyola University Law School in New Orleans, a city that forever held her heart.

Jennifer was a wonderful cook. She loved crawfish and jambalaya , but also the enchiladas of her native NM (Christmas) and enjoyed the seafood of Puget Sound after moving to Seattle. Though, even years later, she argued that nothing beat the oysters of the Gulf coast . She loved having nieces and nephews visit in Seattle and would cater bus and boat tours of her adopted city to meet the interests of each visitor.

Jennifer is survived by her husband Rob Gitell and his children Jill and Aaron, her mother Grazina Klein, sisters Abigail Klein and Melissa Klein and niece and nephews Ethan, Caroline, Nate, Wyatt and Tyler.

Jennifer was active in the Junior League and was previously a board member of New Beginnings, a domestic violence shelter in Seattle. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to New Beginnings or your local domestic violence prevention charity.

Jennifer will be very missed among many. I will always remember her smile and her quiet intelligence. She was the first colleague that I worked with at Westlaw and will always remain special to me. I am so very sorry to learn of your loss of her. Joanne Muskus

This is such shocking and sad news. I am remembering our fun times in New York and our last visit in Seattle. You were a caring soul - beautiful inside and out. I cannot wrap my head around this. My thoughts and prayers are with your family in this difficult time.
