Professor Hamm was my math teacher at UNM. He was a kind and patient soul, always spending extra time with me in office hours. I did not know him too well, but he made a big difference in my life! I just now got a job as a professor myself, and wanted to reach out to him to let him know the difference he made in my life as a student. I am sorry to find out he passed, but at the same time am glad I can leave this note so that his family can see it. Best wishes to you and my condolences for your loss.

I appreciated his powerful intellect, steady gaze, and recklessness during experimental work we did some time ago at the base. Somehow he brought a sense of humanity to that physics and engineering endeavor.
