Jose Santillanes Obituary
My brother, is at rest.
I want to thank the many parishioners, friends And priests and deacons who offered prayers in his behalf throughout his ordeal which began on December 12, 2014 and ended on March 6, 2015.
Many of you offered hope to a brother and sister who were in shock and disbelief that the circumstances could be so bleak.
Others ministered to his spiritual needs and were a constant source of strength and resolve.
"God does everything for a reason."
He was happy that so many sought his final blessing.
Thank you so much for the many stories, pictures and outpouring of kindness & support you have given my family throughout this trying time. It has been most comforting and very much appreciated.
The family of Father Jose Flavio Santillanes is honored to have shared him with so many others who loved him.

Padre Flavio, I will always remember your smile and sense of humor. I can hear your jovial voice saying "alright, alright..." I served with you in Turkey and became a priest. I will miss our yearly visit to see you. This November will be a sad trip for me. I still have the last joke you emailed me. Your love of God and His people made you a true pastor to all you came in contact with. I will miss you my dear brother in Christ. May you rest with angels dear Flavio.

Fr. Santillanes was such a great inspiration to the people of Cristo Rey Parish, and when he left us many people cried for him. Many people lost contact with him, no one seemed to know where he had gone. We will always remember him as a very dear priest in our hearts, just like Mgr. Patrick Smith. As an altar boy I had the pleasure of serving for him always. May the family have a wonderful memory of him.
