Joseph Danzer Obituary
Joseph H. Danzer, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on June 17, 2015. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 17, 1931, to Joseph T. Danzer, MD and Laureen (Hauptmann).
He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Elizabeth Creed Danzer: his son, Michael Joseph Danzer (Jean), and three grandchildren: Michael J. Danzer II (Brittney), Tyler Danzer and Kathleen "Katie" Danzer. He is also survived by his sisters, Judy Collins (Ben), Marge Straub (Bill); and his brother, Robert (Kathy).
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Elizabeth Danzer; and a son, Daniel Creed Danzer; and his brother Thomas Danzer.
Joe was raised in Oil City, Pennsylvania. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. After his military service, he attended and graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. During his college years, he was a model for Sears Roebuck. After college, he started his career in the insurance industry with Allstate in Denver, Salt Lake City and Albuquerque. Later he worked for the Seligman and Thomas Agency in Albuquerque before opening the Joe Danzer Insurance Agency. Joe was also an entrepreneur and was involved in real estate, vending machines and car parts businesses.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria Rd. NE, Albuquerque. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Catholic Charities. Service arrangements are under the direction of FRENCH-Wyoming.
