Kae Bacon Obituary

Bacon, Kae

Kae Bacon peacefully went to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the age of 57 after a battle with brain cancer. She was surrounded by family at her Albuquerque, NM home. Kae found her greatest joy in her roles as loving wife and mother, Suzuki piano teacher, and choir director at Alameda Bible Church. She is remembered for touching many lives through her music, encouraging others with her unwavering faith, and building enduring relationships with many dear friends.

Kae is survived by her husband Dr. Larry Bacon; her daughters Ruth Edewards and husband Ace, Elisabeth Hope and husband Stephen, Donna Bacon, and Jane Bacon. Kae delighted in her granddaughters, Lydia Kae Hope and Lydia's younger sister on the way. She has three surviving siblings: Donna Moore and husband John, CR Wooderson and wife Marita, and Mark Wooderson and wife Diane.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 28th at 3 pm at Alameda Bible Church, 220 El Pueblo Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation in Kae's memory be made to Victory Christian School, where Kae served in the music program for over 30 years.

Kae I am one of the many souls you saved. A neighbor who hoped to become friends with you from the moment I moved in. You handled ALL of life with a grace I had never seen before. I know exactly where you are and seeing you again is going to be the miracle God has promised for all who believe in his Son.

How missed you are and will be by your family and all who knew you. Until that day, until that day.....Pat Gonser

Larry I am sorry to hear of your wife's passing. I was doing a search on a hunch to see what you were up to and stumbled on this sad news. You and your daughters will be in my prayers.

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.
All is well.

Recently a family in Leon saw their mom go to be with the Lord-also from cancer. When I asked one of the kids how they were doing they said that they were "getting used to the new normal". I told her that I thought their mom would like that. A "new normal" is what I pray for you all.

We grieve with you at the loss of a dear friend and a fellow Suzuki piano teacher colleague. Kae was very special to us from the first time she came to our home in Cincinnati, Ohio to take Suzuki Piano teacher training. She was uniquely beautiful in every way, but especially in her faith. We rejoice that she is with Jesus, and we grieve that she is no longer with us here on this earth. Our daily prayers remain with the Bacon family. May God strengthen each of you as you walk this new journey of life with out Kae. We love you. Bob and Rita Hauck

I have always cherished my friendship with Kae. While Ross and I mourn her homegoing, we also rejoice that she is free from pain and enjoying life in the presence of Jesus. While we can't be there for the memorial service, we are praying for Larry and the whole family.
