Leonor Jaramillo Obituary

Leonor "Nora" Jaramillo

Leonor "Nora" Jaramillo passed away peacefully on

January 24, 2024, surrounded by the love of her life, Robert and their family. Nora was born on February 28, 1947, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Concepcion and Celina Sanchez. Nora moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico when she was 3 years old. Nora was raised in the North Valley where she graduated from Valley High School in 1965. She met the love of her life in 1967 and they were married on June 15, 1968.

Nora was preceded in death by her

"Sonshine," Robert A. Jaramillo, her parents and her

son-in-law, Bryan Otero. Nora is survived by her

husband of 55 years, Robert B. Jaramillo, and their daughters, Jessica Arnett (John),

Nathalie Aragon (CJ) and her baby,

JoAnna Harvey (Joel).

Anyone who ever spoke to Nora knew that her pride and joy were her beautiful grandchildren:

Dr. Jonathan Arnett (Marisa), Jason Arnett (Ashley), Jonah Arnett, Jailyn Arnett, Robert D. Jaramillo

(Valerie), Cristela Thorp (Tyler), Joaquin Aragon,

Isaac Harvey, Izekiel Harvey and her

great-granddaughter, Ivy. Nora is also survived by her brother, Louie Sanchez (Virginia), her bonus daughter, Valerie Preston, and her guardian angel on earth,

Tommie Jaramillo. She was everyone's favorite auntie. Each and every one of her godchildren, nieces and

nephews held a very special place in her heart. If at any point in your life she took you under her wing, you know you were forever considered her child, her grandchild, or her sister.

Nora was tiny, but she was mighty, and her strength could be measured by her love for others. She had a way of making everyone feel like the most special person in the world. She was often known as Mama Nora and Gramma Nora to the friends and teammates of her

children and grandchildren. She was the loudest

cheerleader in the stands, never missing a game or

tournament no matter how close or far away.

Nora was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 69, where she served in many different roles for 30 years. She served God and Country with honor and

respect for all. Nora was also a Lifetime Member of

S.N.M.D.M.P 2, serving for 43 years. She was always front and center in lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

A special thank you to the doctors and nurses on the 4th floor at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center, we are

grateful for your kindness and support. To our friends and family who have brought food, sent prayers, offered support, a hug or just a listening ear we can never repay you for your kindness during this most difficult time.

A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m., with a Funeral Mass immediately following on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, at Prince of Peace Catholic Community,

12500 Carmel NE, Albuquerque 87122. Burial will take place on Monday, February 5th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

We will leave from American Legion Post 69 at 9:15 a.m.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Robert D, Jonathan, Jason, Jonah, Isaac, Joaquin and Izekiel.
