Linda J. Gallegos, age 73, from Albuquerque, NM and Conchas Dam, NM was called to eternal life on April 9, 2016 with her family at her side, after a long illness. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.

Linda is survived by her husband of 53 years, Herald Gallegos; daughter and son-in-law Pamela and Adam Scott (Los Alamos, NM); son (Herald) HB, and daughter-in-law Geri Rosas (Gilbert, AZ); grandchildren Erin and Adam Scott, and Madison Macias; sisters Pauline Breidenbach, Virginia McIntyre, and Annadine Gonzales; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her son Eric Gallegos, parents Laura and Dan Garcia, brother Dan Garcia, and niece Autumn McIntyre.

Linda was born in Vallejo, CA on August 7, 1942, and raised in Albuquerque. She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in 1960, then married her soul mate, Herald Gallegos on July 27, 1963. She was a homemaker, a mother, a secretary for the Federal Fish and Wildlife Services and for Builders Equipment Company. She was an Air Traffic Assistant at the Air Traffic Control Center and then became the Administration Officer at the Flight Service Center until she retired in 2003. At that time she and her husband moved to Conchas Dam where she became active in the Auxiliary for the American Legion.

Linda loved many activities at Conchas Dam, especially watching the sunset views, the deer, the birds and other wildlife, and spending time with friends. She was active in her children's lives as scout Den Mother, and baseball Team Mom. Always most dear to her heart was her family, and spending time with her grandchildren as often as possible.

Linda's family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Home Healthcare and Hospice for the love and care they showed her, and her family members in her final months.

Please join Linda's family to honor her life on Friday, April 15th at Risen Savior Catholic Community located at 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. A Rosary for Linda will begin at 12:45 pm followed by a funeral. Directly following, Linda will be buried at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery located at 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
