Louisa Chavez Bermudez

Louisa Chavez Bermudez, 80 years old, went home to be with the Lord August 25, 2025. She was born in Albuquerque, on September 15, 1945, the only daughter of Alicia and Celedon Chavez.

Louisa attended and graduated Harwood Girls' School. She worked for many years at Lovelace Hospital where she eventually retired.

She married Rev. Jesus (Jessie) Bermudez and they made a beautiful life together for 38 wonderful years.

Louisa served in various churches in the Rio Grande Conference, including Lubbock, El Paso, Albuquerque, and many others. The children of many churches called her "Miss Lou", and many families knew her because of her ministry with children.

She enjoyed travelling often to Mexico City and Spain. Louisa was very loved by her family, her church members, and many in the community. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and blessed her.

Louisa amo much a Cristo y a su iglesia. Su vida fue una bendicion para muchos. Gracias Louisa.

A viewing and visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, 3:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Lomas. A memorial service will take place on Thursday September 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at El Buen Samaritano Church, 700 Granite Ave. NE, followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Park, and a reception back at El Buen Samaritano.
