Margaret Schwaner Obituary

Margaret Schwaner

Margaret Schwaner passed away September 26, 2025 after a short illness. She was born on May 31, 1937 in Hartford City, Indiana and was a resident of Albuquerque for the past 61 years. Margaret, known to many as Margie, was a lover of Notre Dame football, college basketball, and good wine.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Frederick Schwaner; and her beloved daughter, Suzanne Durnford. Margie, was a loving, devoted mother and is survived by five sons and their wives, Eric (Shari), Mark (Melanie), Jeff (Marie), Brian (Debbie), Brad (Jill); son-in-law, John Durnford, 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and her sister, MaryNell Schmuck (Fred).

A Rosary will be held at 10:00 am followed by a funeral Mass on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 12500 Carmel NE. Interment will be held for the family that afternoon at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Margaret's name to Casa Angelica in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
