Marie Holmes Obituary
Marie Antoinette Holmes (Fleury), born on August 7, 1936, in Easthampton, MA, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 87.
Marie was a sweet and loving individual, known for her generosity and kind-hearted nature. She was a devoted mother, cherished sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her sister Elodie Fagnand, her 5 children: Mark Holmes, Elodie Holmes, Theresa Siciliano, Stephen Holmes, and Melissa Trudell; 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by her husband Allen Holmes.
Marie's educational journey led her to become a registered nurse from Catholic University in Washington, DC. After relocating to New Mexico in 1992, Marie worked for the New Mexico Commission for the Blind. She dedicated her retirement years to community service and volunteering in her church. In addition, she became one of St. Thomas Aquinas well-loved and admired lectors.
Her hobbies included sailing, playing the piano, acting in the Albuquerque Little Theater, and writing poetry.
A rosary will start at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 15, 2024, followed by a mass, at 1:30pm, St. Thomas Aquinas, 1502 Sara Rd, S.E., Rio Rancho, NM.
Her burial will take place Monday, June 17, 2024 at Daniel's Family Funerals 4310 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, NM.

Marie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and love.
