To everyone who took the time to write about Mitch here, please allow me to offer you a sincere thank you from our family. Mitch was well-loved and will be missed. He was a profoundly positive influence on my life. My friends uniformly adored and respected him. He was one of the good ones, deeply intelligent and empathetic, and I'm thankful for everything he gave our family.

Mitch and I used to work together at Rosslyn, VA. Mitch was always interested in knowing about other parts of the world. In our free time, we used to discuss various culture at different parts of the world. He loved to travel. Mitch will always be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the Ringer family.

Mitch was a thoughtful and highly principled colleague for my eight years in the Forest Service. Through multiple organizational changes he maintained his advocacy for physically challenged co-workers, insisting that Forest Service work and products should be accessible to all. His integrity and conscientious support for fair treatment set an example for us. We hope to dedicate our efforts to continue his work to his memory.

Ringer Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Mitch was one of a kind, salt of the earth amazing human being that don’t come around often enough. He always looked out for me and was one of the first Forest Service family to welcome me to the Agency almost 15 years ago. I could always count on Mitch to lighten the mood with a good joke and always appreciated his candor. The dedication Mitch had to those with disabilities through his work with 508 was unwavering and an inspiration. Mitch will be in our hearts and memories forever. My deepest sympathy,

I have known Mitch for many years now. We started working together back on the moral project around five years ago. We have had a lot of fun since then. Mitch was always kind and supportive. Anytime anyone needed anything he was there for us. As I learned more and more about 508 Mitch was there to teach. He never made anyone feel stupid or silly for asking even the simplest questions. He was a man to be admired and I will miss him very much. It will not be the same without him here. God bless your family always and may the process of grieving be kind to all of you. Robin Wall

You were such a presence in the workplace! And the passion you brought to 508 issues inspired others to get involved. Everyone knew where you stood and it was my good fortune to share that work with you. I will miss you Mitch and as I move ahead in 508 you will be remembered every day.
