Nick enjoyed watching the Minnesota vikings, especially when they beat the packers, hosting parties, hanging out with his friends, driving his giant truck, and playing with his dog Zorro.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Beth Leckey, of Postville, Iowa, and his father, George Leckey, of West Peru, Maine.

He is survived by his sister, Jennifer Gross (Leckey) Wahiawa, Hawaii; his dog Zorro; his grandmothers, Lois Leckey, Etna Maine, and Nelly Preuss, Postville, Iowa; his best friend, Chris Merkel, Albuquerque, New Mexico; 13 aunts and uncles; and 31 first cousins.

He was a great brother and an even better friend. He was caring, charming, and loved to make people smile. His larger than life personality will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

My heart goes out to all family members and friends. I knew Nick when he was in grade school and middle school, as he was a friend of my son's. I always remember him as a fun loving kid who loved to make others laugh. May your wonderful memories of Nick bring you great comfort during this time of sadness.
