Pearl Cardenas was born December 7, 1942 and passed away July 30, 2016. Pearl was a lover of life, people, and family. She had one of the most beautiful smiles, which she shared and gave to anyone and everyone. She enjoyed numerous activities including gardening, zumba, dancing and art & crafts; just to name a few. She was very active with her church volunteering and giving her time to help others. She was born in Oxnard, CA, where she graduated from Oxnard HS in 1961. She moved to Albuquerque in the early 1970's and has been her home since. Besides her own children who she loved very much she also loved the many children she had the pleasure of working with during her years working at Highland High School, Jefferson middle school and Van Buren middle school from which she retired in 2006.



She is preceded in death by her parents Juan and Henrietta Jaramillo; her older siblings Richard Banderas, Juan Cortez and Ramona Martinez.

She is survived by her children: Elisa Cárdenas and Valdomero Cárdenas, her three step-children; two grandchildren Valdomero "Valito" and Santiago and can't forget her grand-puppy Peanut "her hero". She was close to her baby sister Mary Barron, brothers Victor Jaramillo, Manuel Jaramillo, Tony Jaramillo and Freddy Jaramillo and many nephews and nieces and many wonderful friends. She is loved deeply, missed greatly but never forgotten.



Viewing will take place at Riverside Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4. Rosary will be recited at Riverside Funeral home on Thursday at 2pm. Riverside Funeral Home is located at 225 San Mateo Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. On Friday a celebration of a Catholic funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 11am located on the corner of Lomas and Tennessee.
