Peter Policarpio Armijo



Peter Policarpio Armijo, age 72, peacefully passed away on February 27, 2021, with his family at his side. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on August 18, 1948. Peter is preceded in death by his parents Antonia (Tonia) and Poles Policarpio Armijo, as well as his grandson Eli Armijo Olguin. Peter is survived by his loving wife, Lugardita (Lugie) Armijo; daughters, Stacie Armijo, and Valerie and husband Ryan Torres; his grandchildren, Nicole, Caitlyn, Tristan, Richard and Alyssa; as well as sisters, Bertha and husband Fred Denman, Mona Gutierrez, and Frances Armijo. Peter also leaves behind a large extended family and a large group of friends he has made throughout his life. Peter graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1965 and enjoyed planning several class reunions. Peter worked for the City of Albuquerque as a City Inspector, later starting his own business as an Inspector. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan who never/ever lost faith in American's Team. Peter's favorite pastime was spending time with his five grandchildren. From babysitting to teaching the grandchildren how to cook and bake, Peter would go out of his way to ensure that every wish that any of the grandchildren made were fulfilled. He was truly in his glory when he was around his grandchildren. (My brother wrote and edited his own obituary before he died.) I just want to add that he was blessed to have such a great wife, children, grandchildren who showered him with much love until the very end. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Thanks go out to other family members that should be noted for their moral support and love given to Peter....you know who you are! Peter will be truly missed by all his friends who loved him! We will all see him again in the next life! A Catholic rosary and mass will be scheduled at a later date due to the current pandemic restrictions. The Armijo family would like to thank you for your support and continued prayers!
