Renee Harris Obituary

Renee D. Harris

9/3/1955 - 11/10/2024

A bright, beautiful shining star went dark on Sunday, November 10th, 2024. Renee, a native of Albuquerque, NM, succumbed to acute illness at her beloved adopted home in Medford, OR; she was 69 years old.

Renee was the daughter of Julius and Whit Darsey. As a young person, she excelled in playing the piano and dancing ballet. Following graduation from Del Norte High School, Renee attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN where she was awarded a B.A. in History in 1977. Renee was a member of the Alpha Theta chapter of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She was extremely well read and was an excellent writer and crafter. There wasn't much that Renee didn't know about in one way or another.

Renee worked locally at the High Finance restaurant on top of Sandia Peak, was a pharmaceutical representative for a large territory in New Mexico, and later became a real estate agent. She matriculated into title work at Fidelity National Title where she met the love of her life, John D. Harris III. Renee and John were a formidable team, and a happy couple. Following a visit to Medford, they elected to retire there and found a welcoming community of friends in a beautiful location. Renee was active at her church in Medford, and also was a loving dog mom to three large labradors.

Renee left behind her husband, John; and her stepchildren, Corinne, John D. Harris IV and his wife Jessica, their children John, Levi, and Kaidence, and Natalie Sedillo and her husband Jonathan. Renee is also survived by her brother, Bill Fanning, and his wife Maggie, her niece Leigh Fanning, nephew William D. Grove-Fanning and his wife Carrie, grandnephew Connor McGlinchey and his wife Emily Hatton, grandnephew Colin McGlinchey, and grandniece Willa Grove-Fanning.

A memorial service was held for Renee in Medford in late November.
