We will miss having Rick in our lives. Growing up building and racing cars in our younger days was one of our enjoyable activities. He visited us various times after we moved from Albuquerque when in Denver and San Antonio. His sense of humor was ever-present. One example was his telling us that on the next workday following his official retirement, he arrived at his former office wearing pajamas and a robe and sat at his old desk with his coffee and paper, and told his workmates as they arrived laughing, that "he could not figure out what else to do! " He will ever be in our minds.

My condolences to a community member and peer at UNM back in the early days. Rick and his team provided a great service to the university. Prayers to his family members.

Rick was a caring and generous man. When the Los Conchas fire drove us from our home in Los Alamos, Rick generously offered our family his home in Pendaries. We had our daughter and son-in-law and their friend, my wife´s parents and my wife´s brother and his wife taking shelter in Rick´s home. We will be forever grateful to Rick for his care in our family´s time of great distress and need. We will miss Rick´s easy smile and kindness.

Rick and I were roommates, traveling road warriors, poker players and long time friends. We met in 1972 and stayed in touch ever since.
Rest in Peace Brother,
