Robert Mistretta Obituary

Robert Mistretta

On Saturday, March 22, 2025 Robert "Bob" Mistretta passed away suddenly at the age of 87. He was born in Elgin, Illinois on April 27, 1937 to Vincent and Concetta Mistretta. Bob was preceded by his wife of 62 years, Judith Mistretta. He is survived by his three children, Julie Mistretta, Mike Mistretta and Lisa Zadel and their spouses Carol Mistretta and Joe Zadel. Bob was a loving grandfather to Brittany Menicucci and spouse Shawn, Josh Zadel and spouse Santana, Kristin Mistretta, Natalie Hofman and spouse Zack and a great grandfather to Kasen and Colton Menicucci. He is also survived by his brothers Vincent Mistretta Jr. and G. Mark Rich.

In Bob's early years he was a member of the Moose Rod and Gun Club in Elgin. He had a passion for trap, skeet, and bird hunting.

Bob will always be remembered for his ability to fix anything and for his love of cars. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix. Bob and his wife enjoyed going to car shows to proudly showcase his 1938 Chevy Truck that him and his son, Mike, built together. He was a very supportive husband, father, and grandfather. He was a man of faith and integrity, always guiding others with his unwavering beliefs and kindness. Papa Bob will truly be missed.
