In the early morning hours of February 8, 2017, Mr. Roy C. Hamblin passed away at the age of 83. At the time of his passing, he resided at Casa de Paz Senior Assisted Living Home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Roy was born of Mary Jane and Walter C. Hamblin on April 9, 1933, in White County, Illinois.

Roy married Charlotte Fay Reich in March of 1952 in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Roy was 19 and Charlotte was 15 years old when they got married and were together for 62 years. At the time of their wedding, Roy was working numerous jobs including driving a tow truck, running a movie projector at the local theater and farming to help support his parents, his wife's parents and his immediate family.

Roy and Charlotte moved from Indiana to New Mexico with two young sons in the late 1950's to seek employment opportunities and to live in a dryer climate. Shortly thereafter, Roy and Charlotte added a daughter to the family.

Roy worked at several jobs including auto mechanic, dairy delivery milkman and truck tire salesman. His longest and last employment was in the tire business where Roy earned numerous awards for exceptional sales and service.

Roy and family moved into a home in the Southwest Valley area of Albuquerque in 1959. He lived there until moving into an assisted living facility in early 2015. During the 56 years at his home, Roy was always ready and willing to help out friends or neighbors as the need arose. Nothing was ever too great a task and he never shied away from hard work.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, wife Charlotte, sons Randy and Dennis, brothers Asa, Dallas and George, sister Juanita and grandson Jeremy.

Roy's immediate surviving family members are brother Merle (Cathy) Hamblin, daughter Brenda (Robert) Clewell and grandson Christopher Tyler.

Roy's family wishes to acknowledge his appointed guardian, Angela Walker, and the staff at Casa de Paz for the companionate and loving care that they gave to him in his time of need.

A Public visitation will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Services at 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services-Wyoming chapel with Interment to follow at Sandia Memory Gardens. A reception will follow Interment at Daniels Family Funeral Services â€" Wyoming Sunroom 7601 Wyoming NE.
