Stephen Ruiz Obituary

Stephen Ruiz

Stephen Ruiz, 70, passed away on June 4, 2025.

He was a graduate of West Mesa HS and also from UNM with a degree in Civil Engineering. His last and final job was the one he enjoyed the most due to the strong friendship he formed with the owners (Emily and Richard Castillo). Steve's medical issues consumed him and he finally succumbed to them after a long struggle. We hope he is resting in peace now.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents (Leopoldo and Maureen Ruiz) and his younger brother Russell. He is survived by his three children Stephen Jr., Travis and Stacy; five grandchildren Lexi, Kyan, Taj, Aisha and Mailee; several great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Genova Herrera of San Jose, CA and Rebecca Dyble.

Cremation has taken place and no services will be held according to Stephen's wishes.

I remember Steve when he worked with my parents Richard and Emily Castillo, He was an amazing person who loved to share his fun stories. I will always remember fondly how he would bring lunch for the whole office and never once hesitated to share with anyone. I loved joining him for lunch and talking about whatever was going on that day. We will miss him.
