Sue, we were friends for 61 years. I can't believe you left us so soon. I remember walking to school each day from Junior High thru High School. I also remember our train trip to New York City. I made several trips to see you in Las Vegas. We called each other for our birthdays and said we would call each other more often but we didn't because we were both busy with our lives 2,000 miles apart. I know you are with your family now and are at peace. But I will miss you with all my heart.

My Snapshots in Time with Sue:

Born September 2 in Kenmore NY as Sue Irene Hilary (nee),
She graduated from SUNY at Buffalo with a sociology degree.

Our 1973 introduction occurred when working at Greater Buffalo Press,
Sue's dry sense of humor helped formulate our friendship success.

Still a novice traveler and no airplane experience to score,
Sue coaxed me into my first flight-vacation to Las Vegas in 1974.

Now hooked by the travel bug in 1975 and a great friend to conjure schemes,
Sue and I went to Disneyland and Las Vegas (Dean Martin) to fulfill our dreams.

In 1976, as the USA celebrated its bicentennial birthday victory,
We went to England, Scotland and Wales to experience their monarchy history.
However, since this was our first international trip,
We soon called Greater Buffalo Press because we were homesick.

The Blizzard of '77 trapped all of us at Greater Buffalo Press overnight,
But we all ate and drank at the local bars and GIOIA to lessen the fright.
Totally stuffed with food and drink we walked back to the office,
Where we all fluffed our desks to sleep and tried not to get nauseous.

Sue and I were back on track in 1977 to Germany, Austria and Switzerland,
Experiencing the people, language, history and fun at hand.

Thereafter, Sue moved to Albuquerque NM to achieve a long-term desire aching in her soul,
Eventually convincing her mother to join her which fulfilled her ultimate goal.

Making several trips to New Mexico to explore the culture, beauty and histories,
Sue was a super tour guide explaining the state's extraordinary mysteries.

My last visit to Albuquerque was in 1993 at the International Balloon Fiesta to conquer my fear,
Sue made the arrangements, watched my ascent and assisted with the ground landing gear.

As time passed, Sue and I would try to stay in contact a couple of times each year,
Knowing we were bonded forever as dear friends with open ears.

My most recent phone conversation with Sue was in the hospital after her second fall,
I told her I loved her and wished her the best of all.
Unfortunately, I was never able to reach Sue directly after that phone conversation,
To allow us to talk about her last written communication.

Sue is at peace with God and in His home with no fears,
While leaving us to shed our many tears.

Sue is also with her mother, sister and brother
And I will miss her humor, laugh, wit, openness and love for all others.

Until we meet again dear friend.
