William Kent Obituary

William Kent

William Kent, affectionately known as Willie or Bill, passed away peacefully at his home in Corrales, New Mexico, on May 7, 2025, at the age of 78, surrounded by his wife, Debra Hammack, and loved ones.

Willie moved to Corrales in 1981 when he began working as an electrical engineer at Honeywell. With an inventive spirit and a drive for innovation, he later founded his own company, Burst Electronics, where he designed and manufactured components for the video industry.

A passionate amateur radio operator, Bill helped establish the Bosque Amateur Radio Club of New Mexico, LLC. Under his guidance, the club played an active role in supplying radios to medical teams in Ukraine, an effort that reflected his lifelong commitment to service and global solidarity.

Beyond his professional and technical accomplishments, Willie was deeply committed to making the world a better place. He was known for his generosity and dedication to causes he believed in. Whether through charitable donations or personal acts of kindness, he consistently worked to uplift others and serve his community.

Willie will be remembered for his brilliant mind, quick wit, compassionate heart, and unwavering belief in doing good. He leaves behind a legacy of innovation, generosity, and love.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wild Earth Guardians. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Bill was my brother Dennis´ best friend growing up. I remember the two of them building fort houses and motorbikes by hand. Bill was very nice to me even though I was a lot younger. I´m sure he will be missed. God bless
