William Thompson Obituary

William D. Thompson

The pod people dropped little Billy out of their ship in Roswell, NM in the mid fifties. Bob and Patti Thompson were kind enough to take him in and raise him as their own. In the mid sixties, they moved their little alien and his earthly sister, Trudy, to Albuquerque where he graduated from Eldorado High School and UNM.

In 1980, he married Rebecca and, in 1985, welcomed a son, Adam. Adam blessed us with a daughter-in-law, Nicole and, just recently, a granddaughter, Amilia.

Bill spent his short time on this planet being a good son, husband, father, grandfather and friend, but he always knew he would return to his home planet and his real people. He didn't die; he went home like a shooting star. Fly safe, my darling.

In lieu of flowers, raise a glass of good scotch to a good man taken too soon. A remembrance will take place from 3-5, April 6, 2025 at our home.

Wild Bill, another member of the EHS Football Buzzards. A good man, good team mate, and a good friend to many EHS Alumni. RIP my friend.

I knew Bill in Jr High at Hoover. We continued thru high school also. During that time....Bill and I were in wood shop at Hoover with Mr. Simmons, partners in EHS Eagle football summer programs in jv and varsity. Bill would always come pound on my shoulder pads before a varsity game ....like a battle ritual....we played basketball in his driveway with Fred Morris. Jeff Smith. Very good times not to mention the Friday night poker games....quarter limit.....just good fun. Bill liked Mel Shaucker of Grand Funk Railroad who played bass....alway mentioned him.....i was sick he couldnt make the reunion as were many others....
RIP my friend! I have great memories of you and wont forget any of them
