William Whaley Obituary

William Wayne Whaley Jr.

William "Bill" Wayne Whaley, 66, passed away on October 19, 2024, in a watercraft accident in Pensacola, Florida.

Bill is survived by his beloved triplets: Alexa Whaley, Christa Whaley Armstrong, and Trey Whaley, and the mother of his children, Dee Rasberry. He also leaves behind his cherished mother, Dorothy Whaley; and his grandson, Conrad Armstrong. He was preceded in death by his father, William Wayne Whaley Sr.; and his sister, Jamy Peevy.

Raised in New Mexico, Bill graduated from Eldorado High School and earned a bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of New Mexico. He turned his passion into a career, founding a water well service company where he spent 25 years drilling water wells across New Mexico. Known for his generosity, Bill often provided his services at reduced rates and never hesitated to help those in need. His kindness extended to everyday lifewhether over-tipping at local restaurants or being the first to show up when a friend or family member called.

Bill was a member of Calvary Church and, for the last four years, split his time between Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Pensacola, Florida. In Pensacola, he lived life to the fullest, spending his days on the water and enjoying the company of his partner, Christina Gallegos, and her family.

Adventure was always calling Bill, and he eagerly shared that spirit with his children. Whether boating, skiing, surfing, or dirt biking he was never too old for an activity and every gathering felt like a celebration.

He had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, earning him friendships that spanned generations. His children's friends lovingly called him "Papa Whaley," and he made them feel just as much a part of the familybringing them along for lake trips, ski weekends, and endless fun on the water.

Bill had a rare ability to find joy in every moment and person he encountered. His presence will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to our friend Esperanza Meis for many years of loyalty and dear friendship.

A memorial service to honor Bill's life will be held on November 5, 2024 at 11am at Calvary Chapel.

I went to high school with Bill. I remember him as a charismatic individual, always smiling and laughing like he had a running joke in his head.
I´m glad he had a full and exciting life. Over the years I had heard some things about his life. We were neighbors growing up. RIP Bill

I met Bill through his sister, Jamy Whaley Peevy. We met at his parents home in summer 1971. Jamy had invited me and two of our friends, Shannon Vaughn & Brenda Thurman, to go swimming in the pool. The four of us were freshman at Eldorado High School. Bill being two graduating classes behind his sister, I would say hi to him on school grounds. I'm sad you've passed from the Earthly Physical Realm. You're with two family members in heaven, now. Sincere Condolences to your mom and family. RIP

The first time I met Bill he was dancing on the table at his wedding. He was a funny guy! Time and distance doesn't change a friend. We had the privelge of knowing Bill when they were having babies. His and his then wife Dee were so generous often times giving us odd jobs like tiling his house when we really needed it. He was one of the first insurance policies we wrote when we opened our Allstate agency, they wanted to support our business venture. He also sold us a truck at a heavily discounted price when we were sooo poor! He was such a cool, funny and genuine guy. We are so thankful for all your help during our humble days. He and his family are quite special people. We send our prayers to his triplets. We are all better people for knowing Bill

Bill was one of the first drilling people I met when I moved down from Alaska. We had a few good times in the years that past. I saw him in the summer of 2023 when he was at Molly's there in Tijeras.
