Alcee Prejean Obituary

Funeral Services will be held for Mr. Alcee "AL" Prejean, age 78, on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at 11:00 AM at David Funeral Home Chapel with Lawrence Babin officiating the services. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette beginning Monday, September 24, 2018, at 5:00 PM until closing time at 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, September 25 at 8:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Recitation of the Rosary will be on Monday, September 24, 2018, at 7:00 PM by the Men's Rosary Group. Mr. Alcee Prejean was a native of Lafayette and a lifelong resident of Jeanerette. He was born on July 13, 1940, to the late Arthur and Lawrence Martin Prejean. Al spent the better part of his working career welding and fabricating as a shipbuilder. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, playing softball, BBQing for his friends, family while listening to French Cajun Music. He survived by his three sons; Michael W. Prejean and his wife Stella of Lafayette, Keith Prejean of Jeanerette, Kevin J. Prejean and wife Dewi of New Iberia and one daughter, Tracy P. Delcambre and husband Brian of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Robyn Prejean Chataignier and husband David, Allyssa Prejean, Garrett Prejean, Dusty Vallot, Kevin "Nick" Prejean and finance' Leah Segura, Devin Prejean, Grant Delcambre and Bryce Delcambre; great-grandchildren; Skylar Prejean, Nathan, Kylon and Karli Chataignier; brothers Albert Prejean and wife Barbara of Lafayette, Eli Prejean and wife Della of Lafayette, Ovignac "Joe" Prejean of Jeanerette, Joseph Prejean of Breaux Bridge and Hilton Owens and wife Juella of Baldwin and one sister, Jearyane "Mama J." Poole and husband John Poole of Jeanerette and many loving nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Nick Prejean, Grant Delcambre, Garrett Prejean, Joey Prejean, Mathew Babin, and Dylan Eddy. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dusty Vallot, Nathan Chataignier, and Brian Delcambre. Mr. Alcee Prejean is proceeded in death by his wife of 50 Years, Mildred Boudreaux Prejean, parents Arthur and Lawrence Martin Prejean; brother, Arthur Prejean, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Eva Prejean. We would like to offer special thanks to the Belle Tech Nursing Home and Hospice Compasses for all their loving care for our father. Oh im so sorry to hear HE WAS A GREAT FATHER , HIM
& HIS WIFE MILDRED ,Help me in tuff times ,They will never be for never be forgotten in my prayers and in my thoughts my husband Murphy is in nursing home near jenerette with the same thing all simers I love you all and will never forget I'm sorry God bless all of y'all
