Benito Ong Obituary

Funeral Services will be held for Mr. Benito Ching Kee Ong, 89, on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 1:30 PM at the David Funeral Home Chapel of New Iberia with Father Manny Fernandez officiating the service. Burial will follow at a later date. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Sunday, September 3, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:30 PM. Mr. Ong was born in China and moved to the Philippines at the age of 17. He met the love of his life there and would marry her at the age of 24. All eight of his children were born in the Philippines. He began his career in retail of textile and would later move to manufacturing of textile and exporting garments. After many successful years in business he would move to the United States to retire. Mr. Ong was also very active in his community and assisted in humanitarian efforts. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 64 years, Mrs. Fortunata Ong, his daughter Lina Fuhr, son Solarno Ong, Daughter Christina Cheng, sons Henry Ong, Dr. Edison Ong, Diosdado Ong and Winston Ongchinke, and also seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Cua Te and his mother Ang Kin and his son Willyson Ong.
