Christopher Cunningham Obituary

Christopher Cunningham, 60, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 in Lafayette, LA. Chris was born on December 25, 1962 in Lafayette, LA. He graduated from Fr. Teurlings Catholic High School in Lafayette, Class of 1980. After high school, he attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Chris was a Certified Public Account for 32 years, practicing in Louisiana and in Florida until his retirement in 2021. He was dedicated to his work and his clients but when he was off of work, he enjoyed living the camp life… duck and deer hunting, fishing, and planting a garden. He loved telling stories, drinking a cold brew, cooking vegetables from his garden, and grilling fresh caught seafood for family and friends. Chris loved all things outdoors so it was a dream fulfilled to retire, return to Louisiana in 2021, and reside at the water's edge in Butte La Rose. Chris had a big heart and had a great impact on many people. He will be greatly missed. Chris is survived by 4 siblings, Pat Cunningham and his wife Kathy, Mark Cunningham and his wife June, Charles Cunningham and his wife Connie, Lisa Cunningham Judice and her husband Remi, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Joseph's Hospice, The Carpenter House, for the compassionate care given to Chris and his family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Chris' name to Catholic Charities of Acadiana, PO. Box 3177, Lafayette, LA 70502, (337) 235-4972, [email protected].

I have so many memories photos of Chris and I from the years he was married to my mom. My heart hurts finding out he passed. So many prayers for his family, Toni.
