Jacqueline Broussard Obituary

A Memorial Mass will be conducted for Mrs. Reving J. Broussard, Jr., the former Jacqueline "Honey" Penn, 81, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at St. Peters Catholic Church with Father Alexander Albert officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Peters Cemetery. A gathering of the family was held at David Funeral Home on Monday, July 2, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM a rosary was prayed in the funeral home at 6:30 PM. Jackie Broussard, "Honey", passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and loved ones on July 1, 2018, in New Iberia, La 70563. Jackie was born on September 6, 1936 in Opelousas, La, to Earl Louis Penn and Rhea Ducote Penn. She has resided in New Iberia since 1952, where she attended New Iberia Senior High School, class of 1954. She married Reving "Sonny" Broussard Jr. on June 12, 1955, where they raised 6 children and many honorary children. Her love for these children filled her life and heart tremendously. One of her greatest passions was documenting family milestones through pictures. Every event was filled with pictures and smiles. Honey enjoyed watching Cowboy movies, camping, traveling, Hot Air balloons, Genealogy, but most of all being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memory are; husband of 63 years, Reving Joseph Broussard Jr., children; Reving Joseph "Slick" Broussard III and wife Wilma Lemelle Broussard, Clint Alfred "Beefy" Broussard, Holly Broussard Geerts and husband Louis Anthony Geerts of Midland, Tx, Troy Louis "Lil Beef" Broussard of Amarillo, Texas, Charles Olivier "Beef" Broussard and wife Therese S. Broussard. Grandchildren; Ryan Patrick Broussard, Joseph Lynn Carrere Jr., Rustin Paul Broussard, Amanda Fay Carrere Demarcay, Stephanie Clair Broussard Hebert, Charles Joseph Broussard, Clint James "Buster" Broussard, Tristan James Broussard, and Alexandra Jolet Broussard. Step-grandchildren; Kalem Andrew Geerts, Heather Duhon Moore, Amanda Duhon Garg, and Brian Duhon Jr. As well as 22 great grandchildren with two on the way. Sister Charlotte P. Gesser and daughters, Kimberly Gesser Lebreton and Elizabeth Gesser Dorsey. Honey was welcomed in Heaven by her parents, Earl and Rhea Penn, son, Zane Patrick Broussard, brother, Robert Earl Penn and wife Donna Thibodeaux Penn. Pallbearers will be Ryan Broussard, Joe Carrere, Rustin Broussard, CJ Broussard, Buster Broussard, and Tristan Broussard.
