Brian Taylor, Pastor of Saint Genevieve Roman Catholic Church in Lafayette, will officiate. James, affectionately known to his family as "Jim" and "Jimmy", was born on October 26, 1934, in Krotz Springs, LA and was a lifetime resident of Acadiana. At the age of seven, after the passing of his father, he and his mother moved to Breaux Bridge, LA. Jim graduated from Breaux Bridge Sr. High, Class of 1952, and continued his education at SLI, now UL-Lafayette, where he graduated with a degree in accounting. He worked as an accountant and office manager, primarily in the automotive industry, until his retirement in 1999. He was a parishioner of Saint Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette. For several years after retirement, Jim and his wife "Mil" would get away every Fall for a month-long trip to the beach in Destin, FL. They also discovered a love of travelling by train and took many wonderful trips to D.C. and their favorite destination, NYC. Jim most enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved to watch and talk sports. Family meant everything to him; he leaves a legacy of love and will be deeply missed. Jim is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 61 years, Mildred Eleanor LeBlanc, of Lafayette, LA; his two daughters, Dina Camel and her husband Terrel, of Lafayette and Julie Babineaux and her husband Randall, of Cade, LA; two treasured grandchildren, Jennifer Dugas and her husband Cody and Matthew Camel, all of Lafayette as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre and Stella Guidry Devillier and two siblings, Jessie Devillier and Birdie Kennison. Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Cody Dugas, Kevin LeBlanc, David Martin, Mike Martin, Kevin Roy and Mike Talley.
