Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at a 2:00 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Keyon David Alex, age 31, who passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 in Lafayette. Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Clint Trahan, pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Barre, will officiate at the services. Keyon "Brotha Loaf" Alex was born on August 10, 1991 to his proud parents, Elizabeth Mallet Etienne (Joseph) of Arnaudville and his father, David Alex (the late Mary) of Breaux Bridge. He was a native of Arnaudville and had been a resident of Lafayette for most of his life. Keyon was the successful owner and operator of Krazy Sudz Mobile Detailing. He loved being a father to his boys, who now call him their "Big Star in the sky". He was always there with advice for his loved ones and was protective over anyone he cared for. Keyon will be remembered for his fun-loving nature and his ability to keep everyone laughing. Keyon leaves behind his beautiful family that he built with his loving, supportive and beautiful wife, Marneka Robinson Alex and his two sons, who are his pride and joy, Kylon and Kainen Alex. Keyon is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Walter and Media Mary Mallet; his paternal grandparents, Anthony and Barbara Alex; and his cousins, Selby S. Daigle and Samaya Richard. Keyon was one of a kind and he lit up the room where he went. He had a heart of gold and touched so many people. He was all about being the best dad he could be and enjoyed spending all of his time with his kids and wife. Keyon left a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of his presence. Keyon always said when he died, don't say "poor Keyon" when y'all talk about me" say "rich Keyon because I'm not poor". A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
