Raymond "Cuz" Perot

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 19, 2021 in St. Edmond Catholic Church for Raymond "Cuz" Perot, 91, who passed away on April 16, 2021. Fr. Gil Dutel and Fr. Gary Schexnayder will serve as Co-Celebrants of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Fountain Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Raymond Perot, a long-time resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Remy Perot and the former Emma Perot. He was a right-of-way agent at Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. for over 35 years. Raymond, fondly known as "Cuz", also refereed and umpired basketball and baseball for over 40 years. Upon his retirement from officiating, he served as the Assignment Secretary of the LABOA for 10 years. In 2005, he was recognized for his contributions as an official, when he was inducted into the LHSAA Hall of Fame. He was an original member of St. Edmond Catholic Church, where he faithfully attended Mass. He also was a proud member of the American Legion - Post 69. And as we all knew... he Loved his LSU Tigers! He is survived by his children, Dr. Linda P. Boswell (Ralph), Ramonda P. Goeders (Jeff), Lanette P. Trahan and James R. Perot; step-sons, Randle Broussard & David Broussard (Michelle) and their families; grandchildren, James Goeders (Melissa), Evan Boswell (Megan), Alyson G. Davis (Thomas) and Alyssa P. Guy (Preston); and great-granddaughters, Scarlett and Arabella Goeders. He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Lillian Broussard Perot; parents, Foster and Emma Smith; siblings, Remy J. Perot, Dorothy Perot, Eleanor P. Glasgow, Mary P. Derbonne and F. Clint Perot. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Sunday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Monday, April 19, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Coach Danny Broussard, Hayward Bonin, Warren VanHoy, Gerard Broussard, F. Clint Perot, Jr., and Greg Gautreaux. Honorary Pallbearers are all current, past, and future members of the Lafayette Area Basketball Officials Association and Lafayette Area Baseball Umpires Association.
