Robyn Olivier Obituary

Robyn Fouin Olivier was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on October 24, 2023. Robyn was born to Frank and Adele Fouin on July 4, 1942. Robyn was born in New Orleans, but always considered herself a native of Lafayette, Louisiana and throughout her life, she always loved her deep connection to Lafayette. Robyn attended Fatima for most of her early education and graduated from Fatima High School in 1960. She went on to attend the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana in Lafayette), where she received her Degree in Education, and was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. While at Southwestern Louisiana, Robyn met the love of her life, Buddy Olivier. They had a quick courtship, engaged just three months after meeting and went on to have 47 years filled with love, 2 children, 3 grandsons and lots of fun times with friends and family. Robyn loved her yard and was always proud to claim that she had the nicest yard on her block, no matter where she and Buddy were living. She was also very proud of her years teaching kindergarten and third grade, and loved her many students, and they loved her. Robyn enjoyed cooking for her family, dancing, playing many rounds of canasta, and telling family stories of her and her sisters, spending summers with family in Magnolia Park (near Pineville, LA) until her teen years, and later in Waveland, MS. Although Robyn and Buddy moved often, they were able to retire back in Lafayette, where they were surrounded by family and friends. Robyn's fondest memories were family celebrations with her sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. One of her favorite things to do was spoil her grandsons. Robyn is survived by her daughter, Soni Olivier Stone, son-in-law, Brett Stone, grandsons, Jake, Ryan, and Luke all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, sisters, Carol Ann Bramlet, and her twin, Roslyn Fouin (Roger Peak) of Lafayette, as well as her niece, Frandele (Andrew) Granger of Abbeville, LA, nephews, Dr. Charles Bramlet (Dr. Joni Orazio) of Lafayette, LA and Carl (Lisa) Primeaux of Abbeville, LA and their families. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Joubert (Buddy) Olivier, son, Frank Fouin Olivier, sister, Deanna Fouin, and parents, Frank and Adele Fouin. A private burial is planned for the family at the Metairie Cemetery in Metairie, Louisiana on Friday, November 24th and a celebration of life is planned on Saturday, November 25th at her family residence.
