Albert Ray Peek

Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven Albert Ray Peek, 83, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025, in Southaven, MS. A visitation will be held Monday, July 7, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m., all at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. A graveside service will be held at Autumn Woods Memorial Park. Daniel Hester will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements. Albert graduated from South Side High School and went on to earn an engineering certificate from William R. Moore. He spent many years working at Don Russ Candy Company before retiring from the Hershey Company after an impressive 42-year career. An avid outdoorsman, Albert loved playing golf and fishing. One memorable fishing trip ended with Albert returning home empty-handed. When he told his wife Shirley he hadn't caught anything but a rock, she jokingly replied, "Well, what do you want me to do-make stone soup?" It was one of many stories that continue to bring laughter and warmth to those who knew him. He was also actively involved in baseball and scouting with his children and grandchildren, creating memories and connections that will be cherished for generations. Albert is survived by the love of his life, Shirley Ann Pruitt Peek, whom he was married to for 61 wonderful years of Southaven, MS; children, Ronnie Peek and his wife Patricia and Barbie Davis; six grandchildren, Valarie, Daniel, Carole, Heather, Tyler, and Eden; and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Ada Cole Peek; daughter, Denise Peek; and his sisters, Monnie Forsythe and Linda Shreeve.
