Carolyn Bryson Obituary
Linda Carolyn Bryson, age 84, of Braden, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 27, 2025. She was a retired receptionist with Steel Craft Corporation, and Gateway Christian Schools. Mrs. Carolyn was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Memphis, where she served God and her community for over 30 years. Whether you called her G-Maw, Memaw, A. C., Aunt Carolyn, sister, or friend, one thing was certain – if you called her, she would listen! She was a Godly woman, non-judgmental, always willing to lend a hand and offer advice to those in need.
Mrs. Carolyn made it a point to have her family together for holidays and events, spending time as a group, surrounded by those she loved. She was the matriarch of her family, the rock that you could always lean on for support. No matter what life threw her way, she was determined to see it through, remaining faithful and hopeful, all while being an inspiration for others. She never let anything keep her down!
When she wasn't tending to her family, Mrs. Carolyn spent her time tending to her yard and gardening. She and her late husband Mr. Billy took such pride in having a beautiful yard, and she maintained it until her health took a turn. Mrs. Carolyn also did a bit of bowling over the years and had a blast with her friends.
To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Lisa Bryson; her daughter, Carol Smith; her grandchildren, Shawna, Shelbie (Bryan), Shannon, Joshua (Lyndsey) and Joseph; her great-grandchildren, Ella, Jack, and Mavric; her sister, Patsy Davis; her brother, Steve Sarten; her best friends, Lawanda Moncrief and Sherry Doty; her honorary daughter, Valerie Cresswell; her beloved church family and friends, numerous nieces and nephews, and her cats, Domino and Skye.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Murray and Burline Travis Sarten; her husband, Billy Dale Bryson; her brothers-in-law, Jerry Bryson and Thomas "Bobo" Davis; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Bryson and Pam Hurst; her mother-in-law, or "Granny B," Inez Bryson, and her fur babies, Bear, Kiki, and Ace.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Covington Memorial Gardens. There is no public visitation planned, and friends are invited to join the family at the cemetery.
