It was at the end of that ride that he was involved in a life changing motorcycle accident which caused a traumatic brain injury. This led to a long 10-year battle to recover. During that time, he overcame a multitude of obstacles with the help of his loving wife, family, medical staff, and amazing caregivers. Preceding Choya in death are his father, Chester Erwin Harris, his mother, Nancy Mae Reeves, and his brother, Chester Alan Harris. Choya "Redneck" Harris had a larger-than-life personality, a huge heart, and well. a very loud mouth! He had many friends that loved spending time with him, and he loved life. He was a talented carpenter and was willing to take on any home improvement project that Janie had planned! He made the best chicken and dumplings, fried potatoes, and corn bread, but it wasn't complete if he didn't have a wedge of onion along with it! Choya may be gone, but he will never be forgotten!
