Sara Sutherland Obituary

SARA SUE SUTHERLAND Sara Sue "Suzie" Sutherland, 84 of Kenton passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Suzie was born in Ada, Ohio on September 2, 1940, to the late Ralph B. and Agnus M. (Buess) Crates. On June 10, 1967, she married David Roy Sutherland and he preceded her in death on February 10, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers,Jerry and Jim Crates. Suzie is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Karen) Sutherland, daughter, Pamela (David) Smith, four grandchildren; Nathan (Amanda) Sutherland, Natalie (Ryan) Noyes, Erica (Ethan) Shepherd, Amber (Matthew Ouirindongo) Smith, seven great-grandchildren; Nicole (Hayden) Thomas, Abram Sutherland, Mabel and Royce Noyes, Hunter, Winchester and Gideon Shepherd and Amenadiel Avelendas. Suzie was a 1958 graduate of Ada High School. She was a long-time member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. She worked for over 18 years at the B.P.O.E Elks Lodge #157 asa waitress. Suzie loved to work in her yard and took pride in keeping a clean home. She was a great reader and mastered the art of cooking. One of her greatest joys was her great-grandchildren, whom she spoke of often. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 3:00 7:00 PM at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Steve Hess and Pastor Tom Hanks officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Suzie to the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 15436 SR 309 East, Kenton, OH 43326.
