I feel so sorry to hear he passed away and not being able to having contact with him since 3 years. I've just seen on this page that he passed away. I met him in Antalya, Turkey in 2005-2006. When I was there, I visited him often. Later I moved to Istanbul but we always kept making contact to each other. Last time we met in Istanbul. Guess it was in 2010. After then we made contact through e-mailing. And the last time I received his phone call was towards the end of 2015. He called me. I had such great moment with Allah, who is a very good and supporting person. He listened to my own musical compositions with pleasure. Right now I am living in Indonesia with my loving wife. I wish I could visit him and introduce him with my wife. I'm so sorry to hear that he passed away. But also want to add that his family and friends are so lucky to have had a person such as Allan in their lives.

In Loving Memory of Allan Adasiak. A few days ago, we learned the sad news that Allan had passed away. Allan was our customer for 24 years in Antalya,Turkey, but more importantly, Allan was part of our family. Allan met my brothers and I when we were in our early 20's, single and when our business was thriving. He was proud, like any father, when we married and began to have children of our own. Towards the end, we didn't see Allan much, but, we kept in touch via the internet. To say we will miss Allan, would be an understatement. We are forever grateful for his friendship, avuncular love and we will miss his hearty laugh. Our deepest condolences to Jan, his wife, and to his children and grandchildren. May Allan rest in eternal peace.

I am so sorry to learn of Allan's Passing. I first met Al when he was in Juneau covering the legislature in the 70's and really enjoyed being around him. I was Senate Staff and he was always at hand preparing a story and of course preparing something for the Upper Yukon Press Club Annual feast and "politician roast". He was a wonderful guy and a good newsman. Write on Alan!! My deepest condolences to you all, his family. Terry Dale.

I met Allan in Penang, Malaysia (he was having mobility problems) and had a 3 1/2 hour discussion with him over breakfast. He later convinced me to go to Turkey which I loved. He brought intelligence, thoughtfulness, and care with him in all that he did. He was truly a world citizen. He will be dearly missed.

In a time of need Allan rescued me, treating me in a gentlemanly manner which I've never forgotten. He allowed me--a total stranger--to use his copy machine at Alaska Magazine, causing a meltdown for which secretaries hugged me...because it meant a new machine. Al was the greatest. I am sorry for the loss to family and friends.

Al always had a sharp and analytical take on whatever book our HSGP book group discussed. It was a joy to share his mind and he will be missed by the entire group.
