Chambersburg
Allan R. Pomeroy, age 66, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born Tuesday, April 11, 1950 in Chambersburg, the son of Leslie and Luella (Shank) Pomeroy. Allan graduated from Shippensburg High School in 1968. He was employed by CenturyLink for 40 years. He was a member of Marine Corps League, VFW Post #1599, American Legion Post #46, and Chambersburg Club. He attended Greenvillage Church of God, Chambersburg. He was an avid golfer, a football referee for more than 25 years and loved spending time with his family and friends. He served in the Marine Corp as a Sgt. He is survived by his wife, of 44 years, Janet (Powell) Pomeroy. He is also survived by two daughters, Kimberly (Todd) Miller, Fayetteville, Shelly R. (Michael) Burger, Chambersburg; grandson, Derek Burger; two sisters, Diana Wadel, Shippensburg, Annette Hann, Orrstown; and his mother, Luella Pomeroy. He was preceded in death by his father. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, January 20 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Dr., Shippensburg, with Pastor Matt Tosten officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #223 following the service. A viewing will be held at 11 AM until time of services. Interment will be in Roxbury Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Roxbury Union Cemetery, P.O. Box 55, Roxbury, PA 17251. Friends may express online condolences at

Janet, and family.
Allan was a constant joy to be around, he will be missed so much. Mac and I, (Wesley) have known him for a few years, through Landis-McCleaf, and golfing events. He always did have a bright, big old smile on his face. Even though all he went through, he still had that smile.
