Amy Bainbridge Obituary

Anchorage, Alaska, resident Amy Bainbridge, 54, died from an illness at Providence Hospital on Oct. 24, 2015. A celebration of her life will be held at Providence Hospital Chapel in Anchorage on Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. There will also be a memorial held in Greensburg, Pa., on Nov. 7, 2015. Amy was born on Nov. 7, 1960, in Greensburg, Pa. She graduated from nursing school in 1981 with her BSN. She received many certifications in her career, including a CNOR in 2015. Amy could be everyone's best friend. She valued every person she came across and made them feel welcome. She loved to sing at the top of her lungs any tune that came to mind, dancing and making everyone within hearing distance laugh and smile. On Amy's serious side, she was a devoted and caring nurse, advocating for her patients and their needs. Amy was available and always took extra time to get to know her patients. Amy will always be remembered as that "crazy sweet and caring OR nurse with a song." Amy will be missed by her sister, Gigi Bainbridge and family; her brothers, Roy "Buzz" Bainbridge and family and Neil Bainbridge and family; along with her many friends and coworkers in both Alaska and Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Amy's name to the Breast Cancer Detection Center of Alaska, www.bcdcofalaska.org, or your favorite charity. Arrangements entrusted to Legacy Funeral Home, Heritage Chapel at Angelus. To share condolences or memories with the family please visit legacyalaska.com.

I am going to miss my friend Amy's infectious laugh, smiling face, and her special way with words. She never forget the time she was introducing me to some of her friends and she forgot what my real name was coz she always called me by a nickname. She turned me on to gardening and home grown tomato sandwiches. I am so lucky to have been able to spent time with her in August when she visited Penna. She will be greatly missed by myself and Ed.
