Andrew Endicott Obituary

Longtime Alaskan Andrew Kevin Jackson Endicott, 26, died June 26, 2010.

He was born April 3, 1984, to Kim and Deborah (Allison) Endicott in Dewart Lake, Ind.

Kevin attended Milford Elementary School in Milford, Ind., and Wawasee Middle School. He moved to Anchorage in 1997 and attended Wendler Middle School and East High School, and graduated from Andrefsky High School as salutatorian in St. Marys.

Kevin touched many lives with a good-hearted concern and caring for others. He lived a life most dreamed of and was always with a smile.

After high school he worked for a rural Alaska school district for several years in the maintenance department, and most recently for the remote Chena Hot Springs Resort in Chena. There he worked maintenance for the pool and hot spring rock pond facilities. Many of his fellow employees said he brought new life into the resort community he resided in and accomplished many goals while working there. Kevin took great pride in his work.

He will truly be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him, his family said. His warm, caring heart and sincere smile touched many people. Kevin had unparalleled integrity and character, which came through in all his actions, whether with work, family or friends. He often said that he had the life most only dream of: Fishing was his joy, not to forget hunting, camping, boating, snowmachining and hiking. He lived the true Alaska experience and no one was better at it than he.

He is survived by his grandfather, Francis Jackson "Jack" Endicott of Dewart Lake; sister and brother-in-law, Eric and Angela (Endicott) Horvath; and nephews, Jacob Kline Endicott and Noah Charles Horvath of Eagle River; brother, James R. Cramsie of North Webster, Ind.; uncles and aunts, David and Candace Wolkins of Winona Lake, Ind., Jeff and Jane Endicott of Honeoye Falls, N.Y., Bill and Sharon (Allison) Streb of Deltona, Fla., and Richard and Judy Allison of Pensacola, Fla.; as well as many aunts/uncles and cousins throughout the United States and Canada.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ron and Rita Allison, who lived in Honeoye Falls, N.Y.; grandmother, Dorothy Jean Kline Endicott, who lived in Dewart Lake and Magnetawan, Ontario, Canada; and aunt, Kathryn Jill Endicott, who lived in Dewart Lake.

God rest his soul, for it was so dear. We will forever love him ...

Kevin:
I remember the little boy who you to take Aunt Judy's hair and make it up into funny shapes and sizes. It took her hours to wash all of the crud you and Annie put in it.
I sure wish we could have been together more in our lives, but miles make it hard. Miles are something that comes between families all the time. I sure wish I could turn back time.

Love, Uncle Rich

We have so many great memories of Kevin during his time in Dillingham and going to visit Kevin at Chena... camping, fishing, hunting, bringing my sick daughter and I down the lake during a horrid windy day... Kevin had a heart of gold and the smile that brought sunshine to everyone. We miss you here every day.

I don't really know if the family really remembers me at all, its been awhile. I use to hang out with Kevin while my sis was in dance, at LeAnn's dance (i think was the name), I remember going to see TMNT 3 with him, had lots of fun. Really was sad when he moved away, even sadder to here about this. My thoughts are with all of his other friends and family.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that Kevin had passed. My husband and I got to know Kevin while he lived here in Dillingham. Justin and Kevin were always neck-to-neck in snowmachine races and drags and the aftermath of fixing what broke afterwords. Kevin was an honest and kind friend! We will be praying for his family.....

My heart hurts for your family and the profound loss in your life. I had the honor of knowing Kevin while he was dating his highschool girlfriend Heaher and many times he was at my home, smiling and joking. He was a pleasure and a joy and will not be forgotten. My deepest sympathy and prayers to all of you.

Words cannot express a loss of a child. Deb, I wish you peace and my deepest condolences on losing your son. May God bless you and your family in this time of loss. No parent should outlive their child. We lost our youngest after you moved away from Anchorage. Time will lessen the hurt, but their memory lives on in your heart.
