Andrew Magestro Obituary

Masury- Andrew C. Magestro, 93, passed away Friday morning, December 11, 2015 at Sharon Regional Hospital. Andrew was born on November 28, 1922 in Sharon, PA, a son to the late Nino and Margret (Errichetto) Magestro. He was a proud Navy veteran, serving his country during WWII. He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Sharon, PA and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Masury Chapter. He was an avid gardener and was locally known for his garlic. He has a love for sports and was an athletic enthusiast for his family and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his loving children, Andrea Parks of Washington, PA, Frank Magestro of Wilmington, NC, Dion (Lynn) Magestro of Masury, OH, Leah Magestro of New Cumberland, PA, and Justin (Vicki) Magestro of Sharon, PA ; grandchildren, Renee, Dina, Rachelle, Jason, Leanne, Ross, Drew, Malia, Giovanni, and Bella; great grandchildren, Carissa, Gionni, Angelina, Tyson, Tegan, Taven, Jacob, and Evan; and his sisters, Ruthie Lakathos and Rose Michalcin-Lattyak. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Irene Magestro, whom he shared 39 years of marriage with and passed away on September 7, 1986; two sisters, Mayme Magestro and Josephine Hinkle; and one brother, Anthony Magestro. Memorial service for Andrew will take place Monday December 14, 2015 at 6:00PM, officiated by Father Henry C. Andrae, at Lane Family Funeral Homes – Madasz Chapel located at 6923 Warren-Sharon Road Brookfield, OH 44403. Family and friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Sharon, PA, in the spring, where he will be laid to rest next to his wife. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the Salvation Army or Catholic Charities. ANDY, also known to many of us "Brother" was a kind and loving man, he was my fishing buddy for many years, and good friend, i will miss his humor and remember great memories of times i spent with him.
