Benjamin Wade Obituary

Benjamin Wade passed away peacefully in his home March 17, 2012, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, with friends by his side.

Ben was born in Pottstown, PA, graduated from Owen J. Roberts H.S., and served in the U.S. Navy. Most of his life he worked as a tool and die maker/machinist.

Ben moved to Alaska in the '80s fulfilling a lifetime dream of living in the Last Frontier. Ben retired from the MOA People Mover where he worked approximately twenty years. Alaska became his home and the Great Outdoors his love. He enjoyed many years hunting, fishing, camping, and spending every minute exploring the splendor of Alaska's beautiful wilderness.

Ben has two sons in Pennsylvania, Thomas B. Wade and J. David Wade who miss him and have fond memories of their visits to Alaska and their adventures in the woods. He is also survived by his sister Mickey Stauffer; brother Denny Wade; and grandchildren Nicholas, Benjamin, and Jaime Wade of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his sweetheart Huvian Gallaway in 2008.

Ben is missed by his hunting buddies; friends; and his "adopted" family Dan, Lisa, Casey, Aaron, and Allyson Conner of Alaska. His best "four-legged" friend Nellie is now enjoying the warmer climate in Pennsylvania with his sons.

I have peace knowing Ben and my mom are together again. I sense they are smiling as "his and her" children come together and form lifetime friendships. We love you, Lisa

I knew Hue for many years and remember when her and Ben met. They both enjoyed Alaska's outdoors, their dogs and being together. I miss them both very much. Rest in peace my friends.
