Brennan Scotland Obituary

Brennan Burke Scotland, a force larger than life, suffered an accidental death on Sept. 6, 2018. An Irish wake was held Sept. 9, 2018, generously donated by Chepo's, his beloved watering hole and restaurant.
Born on July 15, 1986, and raised in Eagle River, Alaska, Brennan was a well-known character. He attended Gruening Middle School and graduated from Chugiak High School in 2004. Brennan's loving survivors include his parents, Bruce Scotland and Sheila Burke; siblings, Conor and Erinn; Julie Scotland and Kathleen Scotland (Grandmother); Katie Burke Luebe; Patsy Burke Peters; Matthew Burke Peters; and Bob Peters. Scout, his lab Griffey, the Green Bay Packers and his beloved University of Tennessee and the University of South Dakota School of Law will never be the same.
Brennan will always be remembered for his big heart, quick wit and scathing sense of humor. He is now and will always be greatly missed by his family and friends. We love you, Brennan.

Brennan and his brother Conner used to run up the stairs to my office looking at the drawer where there was always a piece of candy for each of them.... We send sympathy for your family. We know you grew up to be a wonderful guy and are missed by so many friends, colleagues and family.
To Bruce and Sheila, Conor and Erinn we miss seeing you. Myrna

Quite by coincidence sitting at my computer here in Tucson Arizona I chanced to see the obituary announcing Brennan's so untimely return
to the cosmos. It was a different time, in fact, a different universe when
occasionally I saw Brennan and his brother Conor storming up the stairs in our dealership, look for candy in the office of our delighted bookkeeper.
Brennan was, perhaps 4 years old -a young boy living a moment
a moment of excitement and suspense. And I have a sense that he
preserved this joy for life, this sense of excitement , this sense of
expectation that really inspires a life worth living.
