Brent Parker Obituary

Brent, our loving husband, father, and grandfather, returned to our Heavenly Father on March 16, 2013.

He was born in Logan, Utah on April 13, 1951. He grew up in Hyrum, Utah with his mother, father and five brothers and sisters.

Brent and Becky were married on August 31, 1975 in Elko, Nevada, and were later sealed in the Anchorage LDS Temple. They moved to Anchorage Alaska on March 31, 1984.

Dad's passions included spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, mining, camping, his wood work, gardening, dancing and walking his dog Homer.

Our father was the most kind-hearted, loving person that you could ever meet. Anyone who has met him fell in love with him instantly. He was the best husband, father, grandfather, and friend that anyone could ever ask for.

Brent is survived by his wife Becky; daughter Ashley Parker; son-in-law Gregg Walters; grandchildren, Jasmine Walters and Coby Walters; daughter Lacey James, son-in-law Josh James; mother Janice Parker; sister Susan (Jeff) McBurney; brother Kim (Marla) Parker; sister Janet (Tim) Maurer; brother Steve (Loye) Parker; brother Travis (Tracee) Parker and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Earl Reed Parker.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday March 29, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2240 Baxter Road from 11:00 to 12:45 p.m. funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to help pay for funeral costs. Donations can be made at Alaska USA account number 1100017513179.

Dad, until we meet again, there will not be a day that goes by that we won't think of you. You will always be in our hearts. We love and miss you very much.

Becky, Ashley, and Lacey; I wish that I could be there with you in this time of grieving. It really softens my heart to hear such kind words about a father and husband that I didn't get to know. I have always loved him and wanted to get to know him, however it will have to wait till we meet again.
Rest In peace Brent.
Love,
Jeff Clark

I only had the chance to meet Brent a few times, but his brother Steve is my closest friend. Steve always spoke highly of his brothers and was so happy he was able to go to Alaska and spend time with Brent and his family last year. Prayers are with all of you.
