Carolynn Beeson Obituary

Carolynn Rebecca "Becky" Beeson passed away suddenly on Aug. 29, 2017, of heart failure. Becky arrived in Anchorage, Alaska, in May 1970, with her husband, Keith, and daughter, Christine. Daughter April came along in 1974, and stepdaughter Carmen rounded out the family.
In the early 1970s, she worked at the family business, Goldrush Chevron, as the bookkeeper. She worked for the Municipality of Anchorage in accounts payable, retiring in 2005. During the late 1970s, she enjoyed supporting the family in racing hydroplane boats. The one time she raced she punched a hole in the side of the boat by getting too close to another racer. That ended her racing career. She also enjoyed fishing, always catching the first fish and she still holds the family record with a 48# king salmon. She loved her family more than anything and always wanted to keep them safe and provide for them. She loved all of her pets and treated them like family too, with a special love for her cat "Bentley," who was always by her side. After retiring, she and Keith made several trips Outside looking for a place to retire, ultimately deciding to remain in Alaska.
In 2010, Becky became ill and one problem led to another, eventually leading to home confinement. Through all the illnesses, she faced them with amazing courage and great inner strength. She never gave up.
Becky is survived by her husband of 48 years, Keith; daughters, Christine, April (Jack) and Carmen (Bob); grandchildren, Kevin, Brittany, Kellene, Jackie, Cameron, Shawnee, Channing, Corie (Steven), Rhyon and IreLynn; great-grandchildren, Serenity and Jathen; sister, Maryann (Tom) Halen; brothers-in-law, Alan and Darwin; and many nieces and nephews.
Her mother and father, Gertrude and Clarence Simon; mother and father-in-law, Ruth and Harry Beeson; sisters, Mary Frankie Brown and Kathleen Fay Christensen; and brother-in-law, Kenneth D. Beeson, preceded her in death.
We give a special thanks to Dr. Timothy Coalwell and Darlene McGlaughlin, RN. As Becky wished, no services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
