Christopher Walden Obituary

On Sept. 21, 2019, Anchorage, Alaska, lost an irreplaceable larger-than-life personality, Christopher Colby Walden, 33.
Christopher was born on Kadena Air Force Base, Okinawa, on March 13, 1986 to his parents Edward and Dar Walden. Christopher had two siblings. Casey, his older brother, who he looked up to and told everyone he is the smartest guy he knows. Casey was the go-to person in Christopher's life. Christopher felt his life mission was to protect his little sister, Cayley Walden, while they fought like rival siblings he loved her and would do anything for his sister.
In 2005, Chris graduated from South High School in Anchorage and obtained his associates degree in liberal arts from the University of Hawaii in 2018. In 2011, while in living in Maui, Hawaii, Christopher met the love of his life, Sasha. This is when their love story began. They built a life full of adventures, traveling and accomplishing their life goals. Their love was what people spent their whole lives searching for. On June 29, 2015, they were married and moved back to Anchorage, where Christopher started a successful career in real estate with his family.
The last few years were monumental for Christopher. In 2018, he was recognized for being the top-producing real estate agent for Keller Williams in the state of Alaska. In 2019, he also achieved his lifelong goal of getting his bulldog, Miley, featured on the Bulldog of the Day Instagram page. Perhaps his proudest moment was when he became the captain of his very own Nautique wake surf boat at Nancy Lake. Nancy Lake stole his heart and was where he always wanted to make family memories.
Christopher had a huge personality, a great sense of humor and got along with everyone. He was the social cornerstone of his family and friends and he will be missed so much.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at Unite Church, formally Abbott Loop Community Church. Family and friends are encouraged to bring their favorite "Chris" stories to share.

Although I never met Chris, it is apparent he made a great impact on so many lives, including Sasha's. I could tell how happy he made her, and how they continuously uplifted each other pushed each other to strive for greatness. The loss of his life has been devastating to everyone who knew him and even to those that just knew of him, which is just one of the marks of an incredible soul, which I have no doubt that he was. My prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends, and I hope that slivers of peace may be found for each of them as they work through the painful grief process. Sending all my love - Marit Burmood

My husband and I had the pleasure of getting to know Christopher and Sasha over the course of a year of house hunting. Christopher was someone we genuinely enjoyed being around, and I think that's the best I can say it. Sasha, we are so sorry for your loss.

To meet Chris was to love him, to work with him was to see professionalism at it's finest and to call him a friend was a true gift. I will miss our real estate conversations and lunches when I was in Anchorage my friend and until we meet again, take care of God's real estate deals and watch over us.

Myself and my mother only knew Chris for a year, but we knew right away that he was a genuine man that loved helping people and crack jokes. I have never met and individual that actually goes above and beyond for people that they just met and he actually cared for the people he helped. Chris was welcomed into our family right away and myself and him were much alike so we bonded right away. Chris always talked highly about his family especially his wife Sasha and you could tell that Chris loved her very much. You will be missed Chris and myself and my family will always consider you as a friend, brother, and son no matter what. We love you Chris.

While the time I got to know Christopher was brief, I was truly saddened to hear of his passing. Working with Christopher and Sasha to find my first home, I had the pleasure of getting to know a fun, caring and thoughtful individual. It was such a blessing to work with someone who was passionate about what they do, and to see them do that alongside the people they love felt even more special. Sending thoughts of love and peace to the Walden family.

Although I never met Christopher there is no doubt in my mind that he was a shining star that left us way too early. I am so saddened by this and my heart breaks for the Walden family. The greater the love the greater the sorrow and grief. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace sweet boy.
