Dane Wagner Obituary
Raised in Dayton, Ohio, Dane attended elementary and high school in Huber Heights. In 1975, Dane moved to Anchorage. He worked at the power plant on Fort Richardson, and a few years later went into business for himself. His mechanical and welding skills and love for fast cars grew into a passion to fly and work on airplanes. By the early '90s, he was designing and manufacturing high performance aircraft parts of his own design and his second business, Leading Edge Exhaust Systems was born.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he had a float plane for many years and enjoyed taking his kids across Cook Inlet to the log cabin he'd built. He loved being outdoors.
Dane is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dane and Marlena Wagner of Anchorage; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Sebastian Evans of Steilacoom, Wash.; grandchildren, Ashton, Kayla, Amaya and Shaun; brothers, Lance and his wife Denise, Mark and Dirk; and sisters, Janie, Reida, Geri and Zell. He is preceded in death by his mother; father; and sister, Laurie.

Dane was a good honest man. He served his customers to the last day before he passed on. I was told aircraft mechanics love his 206/207 exhaust collectors. That is saying a lot, because mechanics are hard to please. He knew how to see a problem, rethink it, design and build a better part that lasts. That's rare these days. Most products are not built to last. The aviation community will miss him.
